This is a 4 acres pond that is home to many swans! It is the site of the Swan Boats, a famous Boston tourist attraction, which began operating in 1877. In the warmer months, tourists can sit on a boat ornamented with a white swan at the rear. The boat is then pedaled around the lake by a tour guide sitting within the swan.
Dear Ms JessCari, As a lifelong resident of the Commonwealth I must take an exception with your mistakenly identifying the Public Garden's Lagoon as Swan Lake. Perhaps the tranquil waters reminded you of the soothing melody of one of my favorite songs and likely yours Moon River. Nonetheless in order to maintain the integrity of Blog please inform the readers of your mistake.
ReplyDeleteDearest Anonymous reader,
ReplyDeleteThank you for your insightful correction to our posting. However, as a lifelong resident of the Commonwealth of California, the name "Public Garden Lagoon" does not do its immense beauty justice so I took creative license to give it a more apt title: Swan Lake.
Love,
Ms. JessCari
